Dunki Second Week Sees Box-Office-Decline, Anticipates Weekend Comeback: Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Earns ₹7.25 Crore on Day 9
Dunki Box Office Collection on Day 9: Shah Rukh Khan’s film has experienced a decline in box office earnings as it steps into its second week, but anticipations are high for a positive trend in the coming days. According to a report on sacnilk.com, the film recorded an estimated earning of ₹7.25 crore on its second Friday. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki’s total box office collection stands at approximately ₹167.47 crore. The film achieved an overall occupancy of 20.74 percent on the ninth day since its release, with cities like Bengaluru and Chennai showing the highest occupancies, particularly during evening and night shows.
Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel shared insights on Twitter, stating, “Dunki Second Friday will surpass yesterday (Thursday). The film is expected to achieve double-digit business on its ninth day, with early estimates suggesting a collection of ₹45-50 crore over its four-day second weekend.”
Dunki’s Worldwide Earnings: Meanwhile, Dunki has exceeded ₹320 crore in gross earnings at the international box office. Red Chillies Entertainment, the film’s backers, shared a poster on Friday with the updated figures, proclaiming, “Sweeping the globe with joy! ₹323.77 crore worldwide GBOC.”
More about Dunki: Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. Portrayed as a saga of friendships, borders, nostalgia for home, and love, Dunki narrates the heartwarming tale of four friends—Manu, Sukhi, Buggu, and Balli—who aspire to settle in London for a better life. However, their journey unfolds as an arduous yet life-changing experience. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-written by Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon, Dunki is presented by JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films.
The film was released on December 21, a day prior to the debut of Prabhas’ Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire, both of which are currently competing at the box office.
