
Doda Admin holds Shramdaan with overwhelming public participation envisioning a swachh district.
Cleaning of Neru Nallah, Offices, Muncipalities, Panchayats, Schools; Nukad Nataks, Awareness programmes held across the district
Doda, October 1: Doda Administration is continuously holding Swachhta camps and events showcasing the importance of cleanliness across the district as a part of the nationwide Swacchta Hi Sewa campaign.
On the call of Hon’ble PM of Bharat, Doda administration made an appeal to the PRIs and Public to participate in the One-Hour Shramdaan on first of October from 10am to 11am, to which people from all walks of life responded enthusiastically. Major events include cleaning of Neru Nallah from the Bhaderwah near ADC office onwards.
The cleaning of Neru was led by Administrative Secretary Revenue Dr Piyush Singla along with ADDC Doda Pran Singh, ADC Bhaderwah Choudhary Dil Mir, BDC chairman Omi Chand, DDC Councillor Thakur Yudhvir Singh, other officers and large gathering of public of all age groups and genders from adjoining habitations of the river. Other events in the district include cleaning of offices, market places, municipal wards, towns, educational institutions, panchayat ghars, panchayat wards, Anganwadi Centres and all the tourist destinations of the district.

A nukad natak was displayed at the new Bus Stand of Bhaderwah by the artists arranged by Central Bureau of Communication, ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, field office Doda, and Department of Information and PR, J&K, DIC Doda, to highlight the importance of Swacchta (Cleanliness) and inculcate the sense of responsibility among people towards keeping their surroundings clean.
Similar inspirational events were reported from Educational Institutes, Muncipalities, and panchayats acoss the district. Ex Servicemen of the district also conducted a Swachhta rally and did Shramdaan in the Doda Town, under the supervision of Zila Sanik Welfare Officer Doda.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Piyush Singla said that Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) fortnight aims to mobilize the participation of common man to bring behavioural change and sense of responsiveness towards his surroundings. SHS is not just about picking up litter, but about changing our mind set towards cleanliness.
‘Swachhata hi Seva’ 2023 is a moment of celebration. It is a time to reaffirm ourselves to the cause of keeping our cities and villages clean.
A large-scale transformation had never been imagined before, J&K has achieved the status of ODF plus. He appreciated the efforts of PRIs, officers, and the general public in making the Shramdaan in Doda district a grand success.
