Doda Admin Embarks on Rapid Road Repairs Under New Town Plan
The Doda District Administration, under the guidance of District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh, has initiated an extensive day-and-night operation to repair internal roads within Doda Town. This initiative, part of the revised Town & City plan for the fiscal year 2023-24, is allocated a budget of ₹50 lakhs. The repairs include a critical 200-meter stretch of Bharat Road and the roads surrounding the Associated Hospital GMC Doda.
Accelerated Work for Pre-Winter Completion
In response to the urgency necessitated by the upcoming winter, which could impede construction work, and to address the public’s challenges due to deteriorating road conditions, the district has adopted a round-the-clock working strategy. This expedited approach, directed by the DDC during his recent inspection of the town, aims to complete the repairs promptly, ensuring that the community faces minimal disruption. Special measures, such as enhanced lighting, are being implemented to ensure that work can continue safely and effectively during the night.
Commitment to Quality and Connectivity
The repair work will focus on resurfacing, patching up, and relaying the damaged stretches of road, significantly improving travel within the district. The DDC has mandated strict monitoring of the progress to maintain high-quality standards and address any potential issues swiftly. The commitment to improving the district’s infrastructure is evident in this proactive approach to road repair, reflecting the administration’s dedication to the district’s development and the well-being of its residents.
The ongoing efforts to refurbish the internal roads and Bharat Road, as part of the revised Town & City plan, are set to enhance the quality of life for Doda’s citizens by providing improved connectivity and facilitating overall regional growth.
