DMK Members Protest in Lok Sabha Wearing Black Robes Over Fund Allocation
In a symbolic demonstration, members of the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) participated in Lok Sabha proceedings on Thursday wearing black robes to protest the non-allocation of necessary funds to Tamil Nadu in the interim budget. G Selvam, a DMK member, conveyed the party’s dissatisfaction, particularly in relation to flood relief funds, citing the lack of support from the Central government.
Continuous Advocacy: DMK Raises Fund Allocation Issue Inside and Outside Parliament
The DMK has persistently raised concerns about the insufficient allocation of funds, and this protest is part of their ongoing efforts to draw attention to the matter. Leaders like T R Baalu and A Raja have actively addressed the issue during various parliamentary sessions, including Question Hour and Zero Hour.
The symbolic act of wearing black robes serves as a visual expression of the party’s discontent and emphasizes their stance on the need for adequate financial support to address the challenges faced by Tamil Nadu, especially in the context of flood relief. The protest underscores the party’s commitment to advocating for the interests of the state within the parliamentary forum.
