In a significant development, the District Magistrate of Doda, Mr. Harvinder Singh chaired an introductory meeting with all the Magistrates and Police Officers of the district. He also reviewed the law and order situation in the district. The meeting brought together key figures from the civil administration and the police department, including the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Abdul Qayoom, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ravi Kumar Bharti, ADC Bhaderwah Chowdhary Dil Mir, ACR Sanjeev Kumar, SDMs, SP Headquater, Dy SPs, SDPOs, Tehsildars, SHOs, ARTO Doda and other concerned officers and officials The meeting also included virtual participation from sub-divisional officers, tackling various issues related to law and order.
These included combating drug-related problems, preventing the smuggling of bovine animals, addressing the challenges posed by narco-terrorism, frequent fire incidents, and improving road safety through the installation of crush barriers. Additionally, discussions revolved around promoting communal harmony and peace, preventing illegal constructions, intensifying anti-encroachment drives, and addressing issues related to illegal mining and land disputes.During the meeting, SSP Doda emphasized the need for strong coordination between the police and civil administration to combat social issues, including drug addiction, traffic management, and overcharging by passenger service providers.
Enforcement Drive in Doda District Leads to 38 Challans and suspension of Driving Licenses
Special attention was placed on maintaining records and keeping watch on individuals with a history of troublemaking and antisocial behaviour while facilitating intelligence sharing between civil and police authorities.The Deputy Commissioner also issued directives, including ensuring proper licensing for e-rickshaws and establishing electric charging stations.
The DC urged the identification of civil defence volunteers to prevent loss due to mishaps and stressed the importance of adequate arrangements for fire safety tools during Diwali, including the deployment of SDRF and security forces. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to keep an eye on sensitive areas, raid locations prone to drug-related activities, and maintain vigilance during the upcoming Diwali celebrations, with a focus on preventing illegal mining.
Additional discussions in the meeting involved identifying sales points for firecrackers during Diwali to ensure public safety. In his address, the District Magistrate highlighted the common goal of the civil administration and police, which is to work for the welfare of the people.
He emphasized that the district administration, comprising both magistracy and police, works as a team to serve the public and implement policies effectively.SSP Doda, in his concluding remarks, called for vigilance against any attempts to disrupt the district’s peaceful environment and engage in illegal activities. He affirmed the commitment to continue the fight against drugs, anti-social and anti-national elements, and unlawful encroachments with unwavering dedication.
