The Divisional Level Kho-Kho tournament for U/19 boys has taken off with great fervor and excitement at the Sports Stadium in Doda. This sporting extravaganza was officially inaugurated by the distinguished officials of the host district, marking the beginning of a thrilling competition that has drawn teams from all corners of the Jammu Division.
Intense Competition Amidst Unpredictable Weather
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as teams from various districts assembled at the Sports Stadium in Doda to participate in the U/19 kho kho divisional level championship. However, Mother Nature had her own plans, as rain briefly interrupted the match between Rajouri and Kishtwar. Despite the weather’s interference, the indomitable spirit of the players and the dedication of the ground staff allowed the matches to resume swiftly.
Oath of Fair Play and Early Highlights
Before the commencement of the matches, an oath of fair play was administered, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and integrity. The tournament has already witnessed some thrilling encounters, with notable results in the U/19 age group. Rajouri emerged victorious against Kishtwar with an inning and 10 points, while Udhampur secured a win over Samba with an inning and 15 points. Another gripping match saw Kathua triumph over Reasi with an inning and 6 points. Due to the late reporting of Ramban, Doda was declared the winner in their matchup.
As the competition intensifies, Udhampur and Kathua have secured their spots in the semifinals. The remaining two semifinalists will be determined by the outcomes of the matches between Rajouri and Jammu, as well as Poonch and Doda. The sports enthusiasts eagerly await the unfolding drama and action in the days to come.
