Delhi Police Enforces Order Restricting Public Gatherings at Delhi-U.P. Borders
In anticipation of a protest march called by farmers, Delhi Police has issued an order prohibiting public gatherings at all borders between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The order, effective until March 11, aims to maintain law and order, particularly considering the potential influx of protesters. Additionally, the entry of tractors, trolleys, buses, trucks, and commercial vehicles from Uttar Pradesh into the National Capital has been barred during this period.
Strict Regulations on Arms Possession for Protestors
Under this order, protestors are prohibited from carrying arms, including firearms, swords, trishuls, spears, rods, etc. The move comes as a preventive measure to avoid any untoward incidents and ensure the safety of lives and property in the region. The order, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East District, Delhi, is a precautionary step to address the potential challenges associated with the upcoming protest.
Enhanced Security Measures Near Tikri Border
Amidst calls for a farmer march to the national capital on February 13, security has been heightened near the Tikri border. The proactive approach by authorities reflects a commitment to maintaining peace and order while respecting the right to peaceful protests.
