The proposal is expected to be approved by the cabinet soon, with implementation anticipated within a few weeks.

Addressing the longstanding societal neglect of the transgender community, CM Kejriwal emphasized the shared humanity and equal rights of all individuals. This initiative builds on the success of the existing free bus ride scheme for women in Delhi. Launched earlier, the scheme enables women to travel for free on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses operated by the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Limited (DIMTS). The government’s commitment to providing safe and affordable public transport aligns with its broader agenda of promoting inclusivity and gender equality in the city.
