DODA, MAY 09: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh led a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of various Rural Development Department (RDD) initiatives in Doda District. With a keen focus on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and other pivotal schemes, the session delved into the physical and financial achievements of the 2023-2024 plan.The meeting commenced with a meticulous analysis of ongoing and completed works under MGNREGA, with the Deputy Commissioner emphasizing the timely disbursement of wages to job cardholders. Stressing on adherence to stipulated timelines, DC Singh urged for the swift clearance of pending payments to ensure the welfare of workers.
Directive on Work Approval and Village Cleanliness
In a significant directive, DC Singh instructed Village Level Workers (VLWs) in Bhaderwah to seek permission from the Chairman of BOKA before initiating any new projects. Furthermore, the VLWs were tasked with maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across all Panchayats, underlining the district’s commitment to sanitation.
Strategic Review and Forward Planning
A strategic review of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) cases highlighted the need for efficient geo-tagging of houses. The meeting noted the issuance of 91,000 job cards, with 87,000 actively engaged job cardholders, underscoring the program’s significant impact.
DC Singh directed the ACD to conduct gram sabhas for a thorough review of job cardholders’ status, ensuring accurate data management.In his closing remarks, DC Singh emphasized the importance of meticulous material procurement assessment to prevent project delays. He urged Block Development Officers (BDOs) to expedite project execution and highlighted the role of Aadhaar card seeding in resolving PMAY scheme cases.
The meeting, attended by key officials including ADDC Pran Singh and ACD Manoj Kumar, concluded with a comprehensive overview of financial and physical progress, reaffirming the district’s commitment to rural development.
