DC Doda reviews preparedness for 2nd Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls
DODA, JUNE 30 Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the summary revision of photo electoral rolls- 2024, effective from July 1, 2024.
The meeting was attended by representatives of political parties and government functionaries associated with the task. The political representatives raised various issues and demands regarding the revision process, highlighting the need for improvements at different levels.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDMs, and tehsildars joined through virtual mode and responded to the queries of the political representatives regarding SSR -related parameters and the rationalization of polling stations.
The DC emphasized the importance of providing detailed reports on BLO visits within their jurisdictions. The officers were asked to conduct house-to-house surveys and verifications across the district to ensure accuracy in the electoral rolls.
The DC further instructed all three AROs (Assistant Returning Officers) to ensure the presence of BLOs in their respective jurisdictions. Detailed information regarding polling station issues, the upgradation of polling centers, and the deployment of BLOs was reviewed.
The convenience of polling stations for voters was a key focus and tehsildars and SDMs highlighted their genuine issues and past experiences regarding polling stations.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure the renovation of the damaged polling stations in a time-bound manner, as the assembly elections are likely to commence soon.
The DC directed the Election Naib Tehsildar (ENT) Doda to document and address issues highlighted by the political party representatives. The meeting was also attended by ACR, Sunil Bhutyal, ENT Joginder Kumar.
