DC Doda Harvinder Singh Reviews NH-244 and Marmat Road Safety Upgrades
DODA 30 October,2024 : In a pivotal meeting, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, engaged NHIDCL officials to evaluate the progress on NH-244 and Marmat Road, prioritizing enhanced security measures and road safety improvements.
The review covered critical aspects including installation of cameras, lights, and deployment of Village Defence Guards (VDGs) for strategic surveillance. The DC emphasized the need for safety installations like crash barriers, speed breakers, and rumble strips for safer travel.
Two sentry posts were directed to be set up near the tunnel, with monitoring by NDRF personnel and Aapda Mitra volunteers for emergency preparedness.
To boost worker welfare, Singh mandated insurance for all NHIDCL employees, underlining a commitment to their safety. SSP Traffic highlighted road safety needs, advocating for higher crash barriers and solar-powered lights at key points.
