DC Doda Collaborates with Municipal-Council for Inclusive Development
Continuing the commitment to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the residents of Doda town, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh conducted a comprehensive interaction with the elected members of the Municipal Council Doda at the DC office.
During the session, council members brought attention to several prominent issues affecting the town. These concerns encompassed challenges such as the presence of stray animals in the market, the need for city beautification, tile work required on footpaths from Clock Tower to Old Bus Stand Doda, expedited tendering for drainage work by PWD, identification of land for a slaughterhouse, traffic congestion, and allocation of funds under various heads for MC Doda.

In response, the Deputy Commissioner actively sought input from the council to collectively address and find solutions to these challenges. Additionally, he reviewed the progress of the PMAY-U scheme implementation and the status of projects approved under district capex and other relevant schemes.
The DC issued specific directives, instructing the Executive Officer of MC Doda to take immediate action in addressing the issue of stray animals and implementing disciplinary measures against the owners. He emphasized the importance of charging approved rent for the use of Town Hall and Community Hall.
Furthermore, the SE PWD Doda was directed to promptly allocate drainage work in the town and propose beautification initiatives to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Doda Municipal area. Instructions were also given for the removal of encroachments and the regular maintenance of internal roads and drainage.Emphasizing the necessity for greater coordination and cooperation, the DC urged members of MC Doda to work collectively in resolving genuine issues affecting the local residents.
He stressed the importance of synchronized efforts in combating the drug menace and addressing other social issues to maintain a drug-free and peaceful district.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, ADC Doda Dr. R K Bharti, CPO Doda Suresh Kumar, Vice President MC Doda Mazhar Ul Haq Munshi, and Ex En PWD, along with other councillors.
