Congress Revamps Leadership in Jk for Upcoming Lok Sabha Polls
The Congress unit in Jammu and Kashmir took strategic steps on Sunday to enhance its organizational activities in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Vikar Rasool Wani, the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), approved by AICC in-charge Bharat Singh Solanki, issued new roles and responsibilities to senior party leaders, effective immediately.
As per the official communication, Mula Ram Baghat, the senior Congress vice-president, is now entrusted with overseeing the frontal organizations, while vice-president Hari Singh Chib will take charge of the party’s minority department. Additionally, 15 general secretaries have been designated to supervise various cells within the party.
The communication outlined that these appointed leaders will be responsible for coordinating and managing organizational and political activities within their respective departments and cells. They are required to submit a comprehensive report to the JKPCC every fortnight.
In further developments, the party has named two senior vice-presidents and three vice-presidents as coordinators for the five Lok Sabha seats. Two general secretaries have been assigned as election war room in-charges for the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, with another general secretary assuming the role of protocol in-charge.
Furthermore, the Congress has appointed district observers for both Jammu and Kashmir provinces, instructing them to review preparations and organizational activities in their designated districts. These observers are expected to submit detailed reports to the party every fortnight, facilitating a systematic approach to the party’s readiness for the impending Lok Sabha election.
