Congress and INDIA Bloc Initiate Seat-Sharing Talks in JK
The President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vikar Rasool Wani, expressed optimism about forthcoming positive developments for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Discussions are actively taking place with regional political parties, hinting at potential collaborations that could shape the political landscape of the region.
Wani acknowledged the challenges faced by the alliance, emphasizing the relentless efforts made by the BJP, its agencies, and what he referred to as “godi-media” to disrupt the INDIA alliance and weaken its constituents. Despite these attempts, Wani asserted that every party in the alliance is returning to the bloc, signaling a renewed unity. Talks are in progress with the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), raising expectations of significant news soon. The plan is for all three parties to join forces and collectively participate in Parliamentary polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

Wani highlighted the pivotal role of the Congress party in alleviating the sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Citing the destruction and damages caused by the BJP, he emphasized that only the Congress party possesses the potential to address the issues faced by the region. According to Wani, if anyone can restore Statehood to J&K, it is the Congress party.
Speaking in Jammu to reporters, Wani criticized the BJP government for its efforts to harm the region’s people. He underscored the Congress party’s reputation as the guardian of the interests of Jammu and Kashmir residents, advocating for the protection of land, jobs, and other essential facets of life.

Wani expressed the growing popularity of the Congress party nationwide, emphasizing its strengthening position each day. He conveyed a humble appeal to the people of J&K to cast their votes in favor of Congress and its alliance partners in the upcoming Parliamentary elections. Wani asserted that the Congress party is uniquely positioned to undo the damages caused by the BJP, including issues like smart electricity meters and other burdens.
He criticized the BJP for bringing nothing but destruction and harm to Jammu & Kashmir. Wani urged for elections at various levels, from Municipality to Panchayat and Assembly, emphasizing that the Congress party stands ready to serve the people if given the support they deserve.
