A notable mention is AICC treasurer Ajay Maken, who will be contesting from Karnataka alongside Rajya Sabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain and GC Chandrashekhar.
The term for Rajya Sabha MPs spans six years, and elections are conducted every two years for 33% of the seats, maintaining the house’s current strength of 245 members.
In conclusion, the Election Commission has scheduled the Rajya Sabha elections for 15 states, including Uttar Pradesh, on February 27, with voting taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The election results will be announced on the same day, marking a crucial moment in Indian politics.
