Collaborative Efforts to Enhance Road Safety Awareness in Doda
Doda, January 31: In a concerted effort to elevate road safety awareness in the Doda region, the Motor Vehicle Department Doda has teamed up with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and NHIDCL, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh. Together, they orchestrated a comprehensive road safety awareness program and mock drill at Police Line Doda. The entire initiative was coordinated under the supervision of ARTO Doda, Rajesh Gupta. Aligned with the ongoing Road Safety Month, the event seeks to educate the community on the significance of safe driving practices and emergency readiness.
The SDRF Doda team provided detailed insights into aiding accident victims, emphasizing methods to prevent significant injuries and safely transport them to hospitals. Moreover, SDRF experts shed light on emergency response procedures and conducted vital rescue operations during the mock drill. The collaborative program included interactive sessions covering road safety regulations, defensive driving techniques, and the importance of adhering to traffic laws. SE PWD Doda, Sh. R. P Gupta, the chief guest, urged drivers to abstain from drugs and alcohol, emphasizing their role in combating this menace. He also directed them to drive within speed limits according to road milestones.
ARTO Doda, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, expressed his enthusiasm for the joint initiative, stating, “Promoting road safety is a shared responsibility, and we are dedicated to empowering citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent accidents and respond effectively in emergencies. By partnering with the SDRF, we aim to cultivate a culture of safety and preparedness within our community.” NHIDCL also actively participated in the campaign cum awareness program, distributing medical kits to drivers for emergency purposes.
The program witnessed the presence of SE PWD Doda, R.P Gupta, ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta, members of Transport Association Doda, and officials from the Motor Vehicle Department Doda.
