BJP Delegation Meets DCP Jammu for Migrant Camp Development
A BJP delegation led by the party’s district chief, Chand Ji Bhat, met with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jammu) Sachin Kumar Vaishya to discuss development initiatives for Kashmiri migrant camps.
The delegation, comprising BJP district officials, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, focusing on critical issues affecting the Kashmiri migrants living in camps like Jagti, TRT Nagrota, TRT Purkhu, and TRT Muthi.
Key Requests for Camp Upgrades
The memorandum highlighted several demands, including the launch of a smart bus service connecting Jagti Township and TRT Nagrota with Jammu. They also requested a 24×7 Fire Brigade station near Jagti Township for emergency fire response and the installation of open-air gyms in all Kashmiri Pandit camps.
Deputy Commissioner’s Responsive Measures
Responding positively, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya allocated Rs 2 lakh for each camp’s open-air gym in the next fiscal year. He also agreed to personally visit all migrant camps, demonstrating his commitment to addressing the community’s needs.

The BJP delegation appreciated the Deputy Commissioner’s prompt attention and dedication to resolving the issues raised, marking a significant step towards improving the living conditions of Kashmiri migrants in the region.
