Bhupesh Baghel Resigns Following BJP’s Victory in Chhattisgarh

After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a majority in the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel submitted his resignation to the state’s Governor. Acknowledging the BJP’s victory, Baghel expressed respect for the public mandate and promised a constructive role in the opposition. He noted the need for introspection to understand the reasons behind the Congress party’s loss. In Chhattisgarh, BJP secured victory in 53 seats and led in one, out of the 90-seat assembly, while the Congress won 34 seats and was leading in one. The Gondvana Gantantra Party also managed to win a seat.

BJP’s Dominant Win Across States

In addition to Chhattisgarh, BJP achieved significant victories in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In Rajasthan, BJP crossed the majority threshold with 115 seats, while in Madhya Pradesh, it gained a commanding majority, winning 160 seats and leading in three more. These victories reflect a strong preference for the BJP in these key states.

PM Modi Hails BJP’s Triumph

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded BJP’s triumph in the assembly polls of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. He attributed the wins to the people’s faith in the party’s commitment to ‘development and good governance.’ The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the voters, especially women and the youth, for their support. He reassured that the BJP would continue striving for the welfare of the people, aligning with the goal of making India a developed country.
