Bangladesh Elects to Field Against India in U19 World Cup Opener

In the Under 19 World Cup 2024 opener, Bangladesh, led by Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, won the toss and chose to field against India in Bloemfontein on Saturday. The highly anticipated match features defending champions India facing off against the 2020 champions Bangladesh. Both teams are eager to kick off the tournament with a victory.

Arshin Kulkarni: Key Player for India U19

India’s Arshin Kulkarni is expected to play a crucial role in the tournament. Known for his big-hitting abilities, the fast-bowling all-rounder has made an impact in his recent performances for India U19. In his last five innings, Kulkarni scored 206 runs at an average of 51.50 with two half-centuries. Additionally, he boasts an impressive strike rate of over 163 in T20 innings.

Uday Saharan Leads India U19

Captaining the U19 squad, 19-year-old Uday Saharan is the oldest member of the team. He will lead India against Bangladesh in the tournament. Uday has shown his batting prowess in seven ODIs, scoring 197 runs in six innings at an average of 39.40, including a century and a fifty.
