Azad’s Take on National Conference’s Opportunistic Alliances
Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad, recently announced his decision not to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Instead, he expressed his intention to actively campaign for his party’s candidates. While addressing the media in Nagrota, Azad hinted at the National Conference’s power-hungry nature and suggested that they might form alliances with various parties.
National Conference’s Opportunistic Nature Criticized
Azad labeled the National Conference as an opportunistic party, emphasizing their history of forming alliances based on power-seeking tactics. He accused the party of prioritizing their hunger for power over the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed out their past alliance with the BJP, despite ideological differences, and their silence on critical issues such as the revocation of Article 370.
Azad’s Decision to Focus on Campaigning and Party Development
Having refrained from contesting Lok Sabha elections since his defeat in 2014, Azad urged his party members to gear up for the 2024 election year for Jammu and Kashmir. He commended the tireless dedication of party workers in expanding the party’s presence across the region within a short span of one and a half years.
Emphasizing Grassroots Mobilization for Electoral Triumphs
Azad stressed the significance of grassroots efforts in ensuring victory on all Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in the upcoming elections. He highlighted the pivotal role of grassroots mobilization in advancing the party’s agenda. Azad also underlined his government’s efforts in sanctioning numerous development projects aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, infrastructure, and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
In summary, Ghulam Nabi Azad’s decision not to contest the Lok Sabha elections and his focus on campaigning for DPAP candidates shed light on the National Conference’s opportunistic alliances and the importance of grassroots efforts in the upcoming elections.
