Australia Confirms T20I and ODI Squads for South Africa Series
The Cricket Australia national selection panel has announced an unchanged squad for the upcoming women’s multi-format series against South Africa. The Australian team aims to carry forward the momentum gained from their successful tour of India, where they secured victories in both the ODI and T20I series.
The Test side for the series will be revealed after the first ODI in early February. Grace Harris is designated for the T20s only, with Alana King stepping in for the ODIs, following a similar pattern observed during the home series against the West Indies in October. Shawn Flegler, CA’s Head of Performance (Women’s Cricket) and National Selector, acknowledged the challenge posed by South Africa, citing their formidable performance in the 2023 ICC T20 World Cup Final.
The series is scheduled to commence on January 27 with three T20Is, setting the stage for an exciting encounter. The Australian squad, led by Alyssa Healy, features a combination of experienced players like Ellyse Perry and emerging talents, aiming to continue their winning streak.
