    Snowfall commenced in the higher altitudes, accompanied by gentle rainfall in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The Meteorological (MeT) Department has issued a forecast predicting widespread rain and snowfall across the union territory, spanning from Sunday to Wednesday. In terms of minimum temperatures, Srinagar recorded 5.8 degrees Celsius, Gulmarg reported minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, and Pahalgam registered 2.5 degrees Celsius.

    Meanwhile, in the Ladakh region, Leh town experienced a minimum temperature of minus 1.5 degrees Celsius, while Kargil recorded 2.8 degrees Celsius. In the plains, Jammu city had a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, Katra reported 11.8 degrees Celsius, Batote recorded 8.1 degrees Celsius, Bhaderwah measured 2.4 degrees Celsius, and Banihal reported 7 degrees Celsius. The prevailing weather conditions are expected to persist until Wednesday, according to the MeT Department.
