Screen Actors Guild Awards 2026: 15+ Records That Could Be Broken

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2026: 15+ Records That Could Be Broken

Ahead of the 32nd Screen Actors Guild Awards — now officially branded as the Actor Awards — new data highlights more than 15 records that could fall at the 2026 ceremony.

In the film categories, “One Battle After Another” and “Sinners” are in contention to break the record for most wins by a movie in a single night. The current benchmark of four awards is held by Everything Everywhere All at Once. With seven nominations for “One Battle After Another” and five for “Sinners,” either film could rewrite the record books.

In the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category, Timothée Chalamet (nominated for “Marty Supreme”) could become the first performer to win consecutive years in a leading film category. He won last year for “A Complete Unknown.” Chalamet or Leonardo DiCaprio (nominated for “One Battle After Another”) could also become only the second multiple-time winner in the category, joining Daniel Day-Lewis.

In the female leading category, Jessie Buckley (nominated for “Hamnet”) could become the first Irish actress to win in that category, while Emma Stone (nominated for “Bugonia”) could join Viola Davis, Frances McDormand and Renée Zellweger as multiple-time winners.

In supporting roles, Miles Caton or Jacob Elordi could become the youngest male winner in film acting categories, breaking a record set by Heath Ledger. Benicio del Toro could become the first Puerto Rican winner in the male supporting category, while Paul Mescal could become the first Irish winner there.

Among female supporting nominees, Wunmi Mosaku could become the first Nigerian actress to win in the category, and Ariana Grande could become the first actress to win for a sequel installment after a prior nomination for the original film.

Additionally, DiCaprio has already made history with eight nominations in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category and could secure his first ensemble win.

TV Categories: Age And Nationality Milestones At Stake

In television categories, Matthew Rhys (nominated for “The Beast In Me”) could become the first Welsh actor to win in the miniseries or TV movie category. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Owen Cooper (nominated for “Adolescence”) could become the youngest individual acting winner in the awards’ history, surpassing Kate Winslet, who was 20 when she won for “Sense and Sensibility.”

In the female miniseries/TV movie category, Claire Danes or Michelle Williams could join multiple-time winners such as Helen Mirren, Alfre Woodard, Queen Latifah and Winslet.

Finally, Martin Short (nominated for “Only Murders in the Building”) could extend his own record as the oldest winner in the male comedy series category, having won last year at age 74 and now eligible again at 75.

With historic milestones across film and television categories, the 2026 Actor Awards ceremony promises a potentially record-breaking night.
