GDC Kilhotran Hosts Special Lecture on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

Bhalessa, Apr 12: As part of the ongoing celebrations of B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti, the Department of Political Science in collaboration with the NSS Unit of Government Degree College , Kilhotran organized a special lecture on the theme B. R. Ambedkar: The Architect of Indian Constitution.

The event was held under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Javid Iqbal Zargar. The program commenced with a recitation of Preamble of the Indian Constitution which was administered by a student of Political Science namely Mehfooza Banoo.

The keynote lecture was delivered by Sub Lt. Zain Batt , Head of Department ( HOD) , Department of Political Science , who provided an insightful overview of Dr. B. R. Ambedkars monumental contributions to the Indian Constitution.

He emphasized Ambedkars relentless efforts in drafting a constitution that ensured equality and justice for all, irrespective of caste, race, religion, or culture. He also highlighted his advocacy for education, social reform, and the rights of marginalized communities, including access to public resources and religious spaces.

A large number of students and NSS volunteers attended the event with great enthusiasm, reflecting their deep respect for the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar.

The event received full support from senior faculty members including Dr Mohd Aslam Rather (HOD Chemistry) and Coordinator IQAC , Dr. Imtiaz Zargar (HOD Urdu ), Dr. Tasir Sharief Per (HOD Botany) , Prof. Zakir Ali Ganai ,Physical Director , Dr Mudassar Nazar ( HOD Persian) , Dr. Waqar Yunis Butt ( HOD , English) and Mr. Anil Kumar (Lecturer in Education).
