
Beef Banned in Assam as Cabinet decides to ban in Restaurant & Public Places
Beef Banned in Assam: Assam Govt has taken a major step to ban the consumption of beef in restaurants, hotels and public places.
As cabinet decided to ban the consumption, Himanta Biswas, Chief Minister of Assam while taking to microbloggig platform X wrote:
Under Assam Cattle Preservation Act 2021, the ban on beef consumption in public places, hotels, restaurants and community gathering was approved by Assam Cabinet.
After, the announcement, Assam chief Minister also addresses a presser and informed about the beef ban.

Chief Minister also stated, earlier we had banned the five-kilometre-radius restriction on the sale and purchase of beef and beef products, but there are hardly such areas within five-kilometre-radius of a temple or a satra.
