In a significant breakthrough under Operation Sanjeevani, the Miran Sahib Police in Jammu apprehended a drug peddler and seized nearly 2 kilograms of ganja in a targeted operation aimed at combating narcotics in the area.

The arrested individual has been identified as Surinder Kumar, also known as Kali, son of Amar Nath, a resident of Makhan Pur Bishnah. A Maruti car bearing registration number JK02AJ-6846, used in the illegal activity, was also confiscated during the operation.

The case has been registered under FIR No. 97/2024 U/Ss 8/20/60 of the NDPS Act. The arrest came as a result of precise planning by the Sub Division Police of R.S. Pura, who acted on reliable intelligence to intercept the accused.

This arrest is part of a broader police effort to dismantle drug networks in the region, which has been plagued by increasing narcotic-related activities.

Authorities have intensified their investigation to trace the sources of the drugs and identify other individuals linked to the distribution network.

The police are determined to uncover the entire chain of suppliers and distributors and are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to tackle the problem at its roots.

The operation was successfully led by the SHO of Miran Sahib Police Station, under the supervision of the SDPO R.S. Pura and the SP Hrs, Jammu.

The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to assist in combating the drug menace in their community.
