The event was part of an ongoing effort by J&K Police to educate people about the growing threats in the digital world.
The event attracted a significant number of participants, including students, faculty, and non-teaching staff. The program featured informative lectures by Superintendent of Police (Ops) Shri Sunil Kesar, JKPS, and Incharge CCIU Doda, who shared valuable insights on the latest trends in cybercrime and fraud prevention.
During their talks, the officers emphasized the importance of using the cybercrime portal to report suspicious activities.
They also highlighted common tactics used by fraudsters to deceive individuals, such as credit card scams, OTP and QR code frauds, and fake loan offers. Special attention was given to online gaming frauds, which are becoming increasingly common.
Participants were advised on the importance of securing their social media accounts and exercising caution when interacting with unknown individuals on platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter. The speakers stressed the need for vigilance to avoid falling victim to these schemes.
The district of Doda is leading the charge in cyber awareness initiatives, with J&K Police consistently organizing such programs to protect the public from online fraud and cybercrime.
These efforts aim to equip citizens with the knowledge they need to stay safe in an increasingly digital world.
