DODA, AUGUST 23: In a significant move to boost voter participation ahead of the Assembly Elections 2024, a voter awareness rally was organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
The rally was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Goha Marmat, located in Doda district.
The event saw active participation from students and staff, who were led by Chief Education Officer Parkash Lal Thapa and Kailash Kumar, the Assembly Constituency Level Nodal Officer for AC 53.
They were joined by Gopal Chalotra, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Goha, who also serves as the Nodal Officer for Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) and SVEEP.
The rally aimed to underscore the significance of voting and to encourage citizens to take part in the democratic process.
Participants carried banners and chanted slogans designed to promote voter education, striving to foster a greater understanding of the electoral process among the community.
In addition to the rally, the Chief Education Officer conducted an inspection of the polling stations at Government Higher Secondary School Goha and Government High School Hambal, both falling within Assembly Constituency 53.
This inspection was part of the ongoing efforts to ensure that all polling stations comply with the Assured Minimum Facilities norms, which include provisions for ramps for differently-abled voters, shade, drinking water, and toilet facilities.
This voter awareness initiative reflects a broader commitment to ensuring a well-informed electorate, capable of making thoughtful decisions during the upcoming elections.
Through these efforts, the organizers hope to enhance voter turnout and reinforce the importance of active participation in the electoral process.
