In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day 2024, SSP Kishtwar, Shri Abdul Qayoom-JKPS, led a crucial Subsidiary Multi-Agency Centre (SMAC) meeting at the District Police Headquarters in Kishtwar on August 13, 2024.
The meeting brought together key officers from the Police, Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and various intelligence agencies operating within the district to enhance security and collaboration.
During the meeting, the participants engaged in detailed discussions about the current security situation in the district, particularly in light of recent terrorist incidents.
The focus was on developing joint strategies for efficient ground monitoring, which included area domination, surveillance of anti-social elements, and real-time intelligence sharing. Social media monitoring was also highlighted as a critical component of their preparations for Independence Day.
SSP Kishtwar underscored the importance of a unified approach to maintaining peace and stability in the district. He stressed that all security forces must work together to preempt any disruptive activities, especially during significant events like Independence Day and other upcoming festivals.
The meeting also covered strategies to counter the spread of rumors and misinformation that could potentially disturb the peace.
