Control Resonant Sells 1 Million Copies in Three Weeks, Becomes Remedy’s Fastest-Selling Game

Control Resonant Sells 1 Million Copies in Three Weeks, Becomes Remedy’s Fastest-Selling Game

HELSINKI, October 19, 2026 [VoM News]: Remedy Entertainment’s Control Resonant has sold more than one million copies less than a month after its release, making it the fastest-selling game in the Finnish developer’s history.

The action-RPG was released on September 24 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Remedy announced the sales milestone on October 15, thanking players for their support.

The achievement surpasses the launch performance of Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s previous fastest-selling title. Released in October 2023, Alan Wake 2 took about two months to reach one million copies and had sold three million copies by August 2026.

Control Resonant reached the milestone despite launching during a competitive September release schedule. Its physical edition was also delayed until October 15, meaning the first three weeks of sales were primarily driven by digital copies.

The game is a sequel to Remedy’s acclaimed 2019 title Control but introduces significant changes to its protagonist and gameplay.

Control Resonant follows Dylan Faden, brother of original protagonist Jesse Faden, as he confronts paranatural threats in Manhattan. The sequel shifts away from the original game’s emphasis on third-person shooting towards an action-RPG structure featuring third-person melee combat.

The game has also received positive critical reviews, averaging 83 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic.
