India to Face South Africa in T20 World Cup Final After Dominant Win Over England
India defeated England by 68 runs in the T20 World Cup semi-final, advancing to their first final in 10 years. England’s Jos Buttler and Philip Salt got off to a strong start, but Axar Patel’s spin bowling turned the tide in India’s favor.
Patel removed Buttler and Jonny Bairstow, and Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav joined in to dismiss England’s top order. England ultimately folded for 103, with India’s spinners taking 7 wickets.
Earlier, India posted 171/7 thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 57 and Suryakumar Yadav’s 47. Chris Jordan took 3-37 for England, but Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja’s late cameo lifted India to a competitive total.
India’s victory avenged their 10-wicket loss to England in the 2022 World Cup semi-final. They will face South Africa in the final on Saturday, seeking their first T20 World Cup title.
