    The Meteorological Center in Srinagar has forecasted a prolonged period of wet weather commencing from October 14, lasting for five days. During this time frame, there is a significant likelihood of widespread light to moderate precipitation, including rain and snowfall in the higher altitudes of Jammu and Kashmir.

    From October 14 to October 18, the meteorological office in Jammu and Kashmir projects the probability of intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall across the region, with a substantial 75 percent chance. This weather pattern is expected to result in a notable drop in temperature throughout the state.

    The adverse weather conditions could potentially lead to temporary disruptions in transportation, particularly in vulnerable areas such as Zojila Pass, Mughal Road, Sinthan Top, Sadnatop, and other elevated regions within the Kashmir valley.

    In light of these predictions, the Meteorological office has issued an advisory to farmers, recommending the postponement of crop harvesting activities between October 14 and October 18 due to the anticipated inclement weather conditions.

    Towards the evening on Friday, the weather is expected to transition from mainly clear to partly cloudy and cloudy, with the potential for rain or snowfall in scattered locations at higher elevations across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly during the nighttime.As of now, the weather in the region is predominantly clear, with abundant sunshine gracing Jammu and Kashmir.

    On Thursday, Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, experienced a low temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius, while the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius. The scenic Kokernag picnic spot registered 8.1 degrees Celsius, and the ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir reported a temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius, as per the data provided by the Meteorological office.
