Council on American-Islamic Relations Calls For Sanction on Israel Over Killings Of Palestinian Children
VoM News Desk, June 25, 2026 [VoM News]: After the findings by a United Nations enquiry regarding the concerning the treatment of palestinian children in Gaza and the occupied West Bank has shocked the globe.
Meanwhile, the Council on American-Islamic Relations has called on the United States and other governments to impose sanctions on Israel.
Releasing a statement, CAIR executive director Nihad Awad stated that the findings reinforced longstanding allegations from aid agencies and rights groups that Palestinian children have faced widespread killing, injury, displacement, hunger and trauma during the conflict.
He urged the Congress, the Trump administration, foreign governments and international institutions to take action to protect children and pursue accountability for alleged violations of international law.
CAIR said ending unconditional US assistance to Israel should be an initial step, and called for sanctions until Israel addresses allegations of crimes against humanity and violations involving children.
The organisation’s remarks follow growing international scrutiny of civilian casualties, particularly children, during Israel’s military operations in Gaza and the West Bank.
