Rock Craft Training for Students at Kargil Battle School
Kargil, May 24, 2024: Sankoo Campus of GDC Kargil conducted one day training on rock craft and climbing for the students of High Altitude Trekking Guide Skill in collaboration with Indian Army’s Kargil Battle School Drass.
The students took part in the training under the guidance of Anamika Bisht (Skill Trainer HATG). The students were given hands-on training by a dedicated team of battle school led by Training SO Col. Vikram Chandar.
As the students reached the spot, KBS welcomed them and proceeded to the training venue for demonstration and introduction of Rock Climbing equipment.
They were exclusively given opportunities to train themselves in free climbing, over hanging, single Jumering, repelling and stomach repelling.
A medical lecture session was given in the post-lunch session by NK Amarnaath (NA) on first aid, CPR, AMS and about using oxygen cylinders before proceedings back to the College Campus.
The Skill Instructor Anamika Bisht expressed gratitude on behalf of Sankoo Campus to KBS for giving this training opportunity to the students as this training had a significant impact on their academic learning. The students were immensely benefitted and acquired hands-on training experiences during the session.
