    Grand Mufti Confirms Eid Celebration

    In a significant announcement, Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam declared that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent. Speaking to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Grand Mufti emphasized the receipt of ample evidence from various regions of J&K confirming the sighting.

    Consultative Committee’s Decision

    The decision was reached after deliberations within the consultative committee led by the Grand Mufti himself. The committee included esteemed members such as Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Moulana Rehmatullah Qasimi, Moulana Abdul Lateef Alqandi, Ghulam Rasool Hami, and ulemas from Jammu and Chenab valley. Their collective conclusion confirmed the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday, uniting the Muslim community in the region for the joyous occasion.

    The Grand Mufti extended heartfelt Eid greetings to the Muslim Ummah, with a special focus on the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed hopes for this auspicious occasion to usher in abundant joy, happiness, peace, and prosperity for all.

    The confirmation of Eid celebrations brings a sense of unity and anticipation among Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan with fervor and solidarity.
