With an increasing number of pilgrims flocking to the sacred cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi each month, the total count has exceeded 73 lakhs as of September this year. This revered shrine is situated amidst the picturesque Trikuta Hills in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official statement indicates that the current year’s pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi is witnessing a steady rise compared to the previous year. If this trend persists, it is anticipated that the annual pilgrimage figure for this year will approach nearly one crore.To enhance the experience of pilgrims, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is diligently working on providing advanced facilities.
The board is committed to encouraging and accommodating the growing number of devotees.During the first nine months of the present year until September, a remarkable 73,25,298 devotees embarked on the spiritual journey to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
This represents an increase of 1,15,159 pilgrims compared to the same period in 2022.Breaking down the numbers, the pilgrimage saw 524,189 devotees in January 2023, 414,432 in February, 894,650 in March, 1,018,540 in April, 995,773 in May, 1,195,844 in June, 776,800 in July, 710,914 in August, and 794,156 in September.
These figures collectively contribute to the tally of 73,25,298 pilgrims.It is noteworthy that during recent holidays, the base camp in Katra town remained abuzz with pilgrims, underscoring the spiritual significance and popularity of this pilgrimage.
In preparation for the forthcoming Navratras, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has affirmed the implementation of comprehensive arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims. Additionally, plans are underway to introduce modern amenities such as a skywalk flyover and lockers at Bhawan, aimed at further facilitating the pilgrims’ journey.
