Reiterating the commitment of the Union Territory Administration under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Lt. Governor Sinha called for an effective monitoring network and inclusive public participation. He also stressed the importance of capacity-building measures to ensure sustainable solutions. Lt. Governor Sinha asserted, “The societies and nations have prospered because of balanced and sustainable development. Today, it is time to protect and preserve nature.”

Lt. Governor Sinha directed the Jammu Kashmir Pollution Control Committee and other stakeholders to assess the progress under the National Clean Air Programme. He announced an allocation of Rs 1.5 crores by the Forest, Ecology, and Environment Department for strengthening the Himalayan Aerosol Research Instrumentation centre of the Central University of Jammu. Additionally, he assured the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism of necessary support for the expansion of research-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the event, a significant step was taken with the signing of a Service Level Agreement between the District Skill Committee Samba and the School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu. This agreement aims to facilitate capacity-building and skill courses in Samba District under the SANKALP Scheme, further contributing to the broader mission of combating air pollution.
