Faisal Vawda Foresees Unprecedented Political Landscape in General Elections 2024
In a bold prediction during a special transmission on ARY News for Elections 2024, former federal minister Faisal Vawda anticipates a surprising outcome where no party secures a majority in the 342-member National Assembly.
PML-N Emerges as Single Largest Party, Coalition Government on the Horizon
Vawda suggests that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is poised to become the single largest party, garnering 80 to 100 seats in the National Assembly. However, he dismisses the possibility of any party forming the government independently, emphasizing the need for coalition-building. He envisions a coalition between PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), asserting that if PML-N governs without PPP, the administration’s tenure would last a mere 11 to 13 months.
PPP as Runners-Up, Independent Candidates as Potential ‘Kingmakers’
According to Vawda, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is anticipated to secure the position of runners-up in the General Elections 2024, clinching 50 to 70 seats. Independent candidates, he predicts, will play a pivotal ‘kingmaker’ role, winning a significant number of seats and influencing the formation of the government.
Regional Dynamics: MQM-P, JUI-F, and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party Predictions
Vawda delves into regional dynamics, foreseeing Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) winning eight to 13 National Assembly seats from urban areas in Sindh. He predicts that Moulana Fazalur Rehman’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) would secure nine to 12 seats from its traditional strongholds. The newly formed Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, according to Vawda, could clinch three to five constituencies.
In this intriguing political landscape, Faisal Vawda’s predictions set the stage for a General Election outcome that involves strategic coalition-building and the potential influence of independent candidates in shaping the future governance of Pakistan.
