Government Requests Approval for Rs 78673 Crore Extra Spending This Fiscal Year
On Monday, the government formally requested Lok Sabha’s endorsement for a net additional expenditure of Rs 78,673 crore in the ongoing financial year. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the second set of supplementary demands for grants pertaining to the fiscal year 2023-24 in the Lok Sabha.
These supplementary demands for grants encompass a total additional expenditure exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore, balanced by savings amounting to over Rs 1.21 lakh crore. According to the document presented in the Lok Sabha, the proposed measure entails a net cash outflow totaling Rs 78,672.92 crore.
