Shaping the Future: Congress Aims to Release First Draft of Manifesto by February 15

Congress Member of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor, revealed that the first draft of the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is expected to be released by February 15. The final version will be unveiled before the official announcement of the poll dates. Tharoor expressed optimism that the INDIA alliance might incorporate elements from the manifestos of various parties within the coalition to create a comprehensive list of core issues.

Engaging Civil Society for Constructive Input

Participating in the ‘Shape the Future’ program, jointly hosted by the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee and the All India Professionals’ Congress, Tharoor emphasized the importance of gathering constructive input from various segments of civil society. The objective is to address a wide array of issues, and Tharoor, as a member of the committee preparing the manifesto, highlighted the focus on topics such as unemployment, price rise, income support for the poor, women’s rights, youth, and farmers.

Manifesto’s Core Issues and Collaborative Approach

Tharoor indicated that each party within the INDIA alliance would work on its own manifesto, and collaboration would occur to create a common core list of issues. The interactive session aimed to collect unbiased views from diverse sectors, including Industry, Economy, Healthcare, Banking, Education, Information Technology, Human Resources, Literature, Cultural, Legal, and Diversity.
