Swift Action Leads to Recovery of Stolen Goods
Jammu and Kashmir police have swiftly cracked down on a gang of burglars within two days of the crime, successfully recovering stolen property valued at lakhs of rupees in the Budgam district.
Burglary Incident and Complaint
The incident came to light when a written complaint was lodged with the Police Station Magam on September 20 by the owner of MB Traders. The complainant reported that during the intervening night of September 19 and 20, unidentified thieves had forcibly entered his office located at Agrikalan Magam. They had stolen cigarette cartons valued at Rs 5 lakh.
Police Action and Investigation
Promptly, the police filed a case under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Magam and initiated a thorough investigation. The focus was on tracking down the culprits and recovering the stolen property.
Intensive Investigation and Suspect Questioning
During the course of the investigation, rigorous efforts were made, and individuals with prior criminal records, residing in various areas within and outside Budgam district, were identified as potential suspects. These individuals were then subjected to intensive questioning.

Culprits Identified and Stolen Goods Recovered
As a result of sustained questioning, three suspects were identified and confessed to their involvement in the theft. The arrested individuals were identified as Mohammad Yaseen Hajam (also known as Cobra) from Trikolbal Pattan, Javid Ahmad Sheikh from Churpora Narbal, and Muzaffar Ahmad Dar from Reshipora Hanjivera Pattan. With their cooperation, all the stolen goods were successfully recovered, as confirmed by the police.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
The accused have been taken into custody in connection with the case, and further investigations are currently underway. The police’s swift and effective response in solving the burglary case demonstrates their commitment to ensuring law and order in the region and bringing perpetrators of criminal activities to justice.
