A Fateful Journey
In a heart-wrenching incident that shook the serene district of Barmer, Rajasthan, a government school principal and a young girl student lost their lives when the bus they were traveling in, along with 27 other souls, collided with a parked dumper truck. The tragic accident occurred late on a Saturday night, casting a shadow of sorrow over the entire community.
Victory Turned to Tragedy

The Grim Collision
The night took a harrowing turn around 8:00 pm near Sehlau village when the bus, navigating the winding roads of Bharat Mala, encountered a dumper truck parked along the roadside. Tragically, the bus driver failed to notice the dumper truck, leading to a catastrophic collision. The exact cause of the accident remains shrouded in uncertainty, leaving investigators with unanswered questions.
Darkness Conceals Danger
One crucial factor that exacerbated the situation was the truck’s parking lights being switched off, rendering it virtually invisible to the bus driver. This lack of visibility played a pivotal role in the tragic collision, amplifying the gravity of the accident.
Community Response and Injured Souls
The intensity of the accident left the conductor’s side of the bus mangled, claiming the life of the school principal on the spot. Nearby residents, alerted by the deafening crash, rushed to the scene, frantically calling for medical assistance.
Responding swiftly, local police arrived, collaborating with the community to transport the injured to nearby hospitals.Twenty individuals with severe injuries were taken to Chauhatan Hospital, while another nine received treatment at Gagariya Hospital.
The girl student, Savina, fought valiantly for her life but, tragically, succumbed during the course of her treatment.
Seeking Hope Amidst Despair
As the Barmer community grapples with this tragic loss, the most critically injured students have been referred to Jodhpur for advanced medical care, offering a glimmer of hope in the midst of overwhelming grief. The echoes of this unfortunate accident will resonate in the hearts of the residents for years to come, serving as a solemn reminder of the fragility of life.
