    Persistently cold conditions continued to grip Jammu and Kashmir, with Srinagar experiencing a low temperature of minus 3.8°C, while Jammu marked the lowest temperature of the season on Thursday.

    Over the last two nights, Srinagar had recorded a minimum of minus 4.8°C. However, according to a meteorological department official, the current temperature of minus 3.8°C is 1.7°C below the normal for this time of the year in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Qazigund also noted a minimum of minus 3.4°C, a slight increase from the previous night’s minus 4.6°C. The meteorological official mentioned that this temperature was 0.5°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.

    Pahalgam, a renowned resort in south Kashmir, reported a low of minus 5.1°C compared to the previous night’s minus 6.6°C, registering 1.5°C above the normal temperature.

    In Kokernag, also located in south Kashmir, the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 2.44°C, slightly higher than the previous night’s minus 3.2°C. The official stated that this temperature was above normal by 1.1°C for the area.
