A Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) cop, identified as Head Constable Saif-ud-Din, was apprehended by the State Investigation Agency (SIA) in connection with a narco-terror financing case. The arrest led to a subsequent raid at his residence in Belicharana, Satwari, aimed at gathering additional evidence.

Currently posted in the 4th battalion of the Indian Reserve Police (IRP) in Kupwara, Saif-ud-Din, originally from Doda and now residing in Belicharana, was previously arrested for alleged involvement in narcotics smuggling in Pathankot. Subsequently, he was released on bail, while facing a separate cheating case registered against him at the Crime Branch.

According to sources cited by The Excelsior, Saif-ud-Din’s name emerged during investigations into the narco-terror financing case linked to former Minister Jatinder Singh, alias Babu Singh, the erstwhile MLA for Kathua. The investigations indicated his involvement in the transportation of drugs, money, and other items.

The arrest was made when Saif-ud-Din returned to his Belicharana residence. SIA officials, following the arrest, conducted a search at his house, recovering electronic devices and other materials.

The apprehended police constable is undergoing intensive interrogation to gather further information.

In-depth inquiries have revealed the existence of an intricate drug syndicate, including individuals like Mohd Rafiq Najar and Farooq Ahmad Naikoo operating from Dubai. They allegedly facilitated the influx of narcotics into Indian territory, aimed at financing terror activities.

Moreover, ongoing investigations by the SIA Jammu are delving into the cross-LoC operations of this narco-smuggling and terror funding network, as indicated by an official involved in the case.
