Mumbai Airport Sets New Passenger Record

Gautam Adani, the billionaire owner of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), announced a remarkable achievement for the airport on Saturday. CSMIA set a new record with an unprecedented 161,760 passengers in a single day, underscoring its status as a crucial aviation hub.

World Record in Air Traffic

This achievement comes shortly after the airport celebrated another milestone on November 11, with a world record of 1,032 flights handled in 24 hours. Such feats are particularly noteworthy considering CSMIA operates with a single runway, making these records a testament to the airport’s efficiency and capacity.

Boost from Extended Diwali Weekend

Officials attributed the surge in passenger traffic to the extended Diwali weekend. This period saw the airport cater to a total of 5,16,562 passengers between November 11 and 13. The significant increase in footfall during this festive season reflects the airport’s vital role as a key travel and transit hub in the region.

CSMIA’s Commitment to Excellence

The Adani Group, which operates the airport, highlighted CSMIA’s ability to handle increased air traffic with precision while maintaining high standards of safety, security, and passenger service. The airport is recognized not only for its operational efficiency but also for providing experiences that redefine modern air travel and showcasing Indian culture to its passengers.
