The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted significant weather changes in the southern parts of India. A low-pressure system is expected to develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 14 and potentially intensify into a depression by November 16.
Regions Anticipating Heavy Rainfall
The IMD anticipates heavy rainfall in various southern regions:
- Southeastern Peninsular India is expected to receive heavy rainfall until November 15.
- Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalseema are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms on November 14 and 15.
- The coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal may face isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall on November 13 and 14.
- Specific districts like Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry, are expected to witness heavier showers.

- The IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the next five days, with thunderstorms expected on November 14.
- Coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha might experience heavy rainfall on November 16.
- Northeastern states including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to receive heavy rainfall on November 17 and 18.
