The Infinix Smart 8, the latest addition to the Infinix smartphone line-up, was launched in Nigeria on Thursday, November 9. This launch follows the unveiling of its predecessor, the Infinix Smart 7, in February, which featured a Unisoc SC9863A1 SoC and a robust 6,000mAh battery. The Smart 7 gained attention prior to its launch through several certification sites that hinted at its key specifications. Now, with the arrival of the Infinix Smart 8, it is available for consumers in the Nigerian market, though there’s no word yet on a potential launch in India.
Pricing and Availability of Infinix Smart 8
The Infinix Smart 8, available in a single 4GB + 128GB variant, can be purchased in Nigeria. An online listing pegs its price at NGN 97,900 (approximately Rs. 10,100), while a GSMArena report suggests a retail price of NGN 82,000 (about Rs. 8,500). Customers have a choice of four color options: Crystal Green, Galaxy White, Timber Black, and Shiny Gold.

The Infinix Smart 8 boasts a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 90Hz. Running on Android 13 with XOS 13 overlay, it’s equipped with an octa-core Unisoc T606 SoC, 4GB of RAM (expandable up to 8GB), and 256GB of storage space (extendable via microSD card).
Camera and Battery Specifications
For photography, the Infinix Smart 8 features a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary AI-assisted sensor, complemented by a ring LED light. The front camera includes an 8-megapixel sensor housed in a centre-aligned hole-punch display. A 5,000mAh battery powers the device, supporting 10W wired charging.
Connectivity and Security Features
The Infinix Smart 8 supports dual SIM 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C connectivity. For security, it includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and also offers a 3.5mm audio jack.
