Ballistic Missile Attack on Kyiv by Russia; Explosions Rock Ukrainian Capital

Kyiv, July 30, 2026 [VoM News]: Explosions were reported across the Ukranian capital city, after Russia launched a ballistic missile attack in the early hours of Thursday, as per reliable sources close to VoM News.

Vitali Klitschko, Kyiv Mayor said that the Russian ballistic missiles were targeting the capital city and appealed to people to immediately move to safe locations.

The attack triggerred the multiple explosions, fire in non-residential buildings across the city and authorities have urged residents to take shelter.

There are reports of hearing a series of powerful explosions as air defence systems responded to the attack also.

So far, the Ukranian authorities have not revealed the details regarding the attack, and the extent of the damage is also being accessed as reports reached VoM New.

The attack came at a time, after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing a large-scale strike on Ukraine.

While returning from the United States, Zelensky said the country’s security depends on continued support from its allies, particularly in strengthening air defence capabilities.

Zelensky has stated that United States President Donald Trump had agreed to provide Ukraine with licences for Patriot missile systems, which Kyiv considers critical for defending against Russian missile attacks.
