    US Military Base in Jordan Hit by 10 Iranian Ballistic Missiles

    Washington, July 09, 2026 [VoM News]: According to Jordan’s military, eight missiles launched from Iran crossed into the country’s airspace on Thursday before being shot down-a further escalation of the escalating Iran-Washington military confrontation.

    The Jordanian Armed Forces issued a statement saying that its air defence systems intercepted the missiles, taking that debris from the intercept pose no threat to civilians or property. Officials assured that Jordan will not tolerate any violation of its airspace.

    These interceptions followed the report from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that 10 ballistic missiles had been fired at what the IRGC called US command-and-control center and an airbase in Al-Azraq, Jordan. The Iranian authorities also saidthat other US military facilities could also be hit should US strikes persist.

    According to officials in Jordan, alarms were sounding following missiles entering its airspace. This was yet another chapter in the escalating conflict between Iran and the US.

    Saudi general Staff (SGS) in the large Al-Azraq area has already accommodated too troops for several allied nations who took part in Islamic State fight, even if Jordan says it doesn’t host foreign bases and international troops stay in it only by MD integration and training activities.

    Authorities said investigations were progressing into the more recent event as tensions in the region remained high.
