According to the Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, intermittent wet spells are forecasted in Jammu and Kashmir until March 31 due to two consecutive Western Disturbances affecting the Union Territory from Wednesday evening.

Forecast Details

  • March 27-28: Generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow at higher reaches.
  • March 29: Moderate wet spells expected.
  • March 29-30: Partly to generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain and snow at most places.
  • March 31: Partly to generally cloudy with intermittent light rain and snow.

Advisory for Residents and Travelers

  • Travelers and Tourists: Plan accordingly, especially during March 30.
  • Farmers: Suspend farm operations from March 27-31.
  • Possible Hazards: Landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones are possible during this period.
  • Weather Alerts: Thunderstorm and lightning activity, along with hailstorms and gusty winds, are expected from March 27-30.

The weather is anticipated to significantly improve from March 31 afternoon, with generally dry weather expected from April 01 to April 04. Residents and travelers are advised to stay updated with further weather alerts and plan their activities accordingly.
